Blue House is a stunning example of how an extensive renovation can breathe new life into a dated period property, transforming it into a functional and stylish modern family home. Originally, the house featured a cramped kitchen tucked away in the smallest basement room with little connection to the garden, and a bathroom that was too small for family living. Our design reimagined these spaces, merging classic period details with modern touches to create a bright, open, and inviting environment.
To keep the project cost-effective, we used plywood for much of the custom joinery throughout the home, leveraging bulk purchasing to maximize value without compromising on quality. One of the existing bedrooms was transformed into a luxurious bathroom, where we preserved the original fireplace and juxtaposed it with contemporary finishes, including a striking blue floor, creating a perfect blend of old and new.
